Colleyville synagogue at center of 2022 hostage crisis receives bomb threat
SUMMARY: A small congregation in Charlottesville, Virginia, faced a bomb threat via email, triggering memories of a hostage situation that occurred two years prior. The synagogue, Congregation Beth Israel, was evacuated as a precaution. The threat, which was deemed a hoax, raised concerns about potential future attacks on places of worship, especially in light of ongoing conflicts involving terrorists. The leader of the synagogue, Jeffrey Cohen, emphasized the importance of community awareness and support in response to threats and violence. Law enforcement is investigating the incident, and other synagogues in the area also received similar threats.
Colleyville police evacuated the synagogue on Friday after it received an emailed bomb threat, bringing back tough memories for those who remember the hostage situation two years ago.

Texas weather: Severe storms possible in Central Texas 5/9/24 | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: Meteorologist Zach Shields is on storm watch as rain and storm chances increase due to a front undercutting warm air. Severe storms are possible with a 50% chance of happening, including hail, damaging winds, and a low risk of tornadoes. The timing of the storms is expected to be in the Hill Country between 5-7pm, I35 Corridor between 7-9pm, and Eastern counties from 9-11pm. Cooler, drier weather will follow the storms. Sunday will bring widespread heavier rain and thunderstorms, potentially alleviating drought conditions. Download the Fox 7 weather app for updates.
Much of Central Texas is under an ENHANCED RISK (Level 3) of severe storms this evening as a cold front comes to town. Meteorologist Zack Shields says its a very tricky forecast because we have to overcome the very strong lid on the atmosphere. We are banking on the cold front to provide enough lift to overcome the lid and setoff storms after dinner.
