SUMMARY: A city contractor pumped thousands of gallons of water onto a horse pasture in Parland, causing it to flood and forcing the horses to be kept indoors. The owner, Dana Lowry, was shocked when she discovered a fire hydrant had been left open for hours, causing the flooding. The construction crew working on the Bailey Road Bridge was blamed for the incident, with both the city and the contractor pointing fingers at each other. The situation has cost Lowry money and caused strain on the horses’ feet. The issue is being investigated by KPRC 2’s Gage Golding, and the construction crew plans to pump water again but not into Lowry’s pasture.

A Pearland pasture was flooded by a construction crew working on building a bridge nearby. The woman who runs the pasture off Bailey Road, near Route 35, says she had no idea the construction company building a bridge nearby was pumping thousands and thousands of gallons of water onto her field.
