Tornado outbreak leaves trail of damage across central U.S.
SUMMARY: Numerous tornadoes left behind a path of destruction in parts of Nebraska and Iowa in the Great Plains. A severe weather threat continues in the region tonight. A string of powerful storms resulted in nearly 100 tornado warnings, making it the most active tornado day of the year. Residents in Omaha are returning to devastated homes, with some completely leveled. Despite the widespread damage, there have been no reported fatalities, a surprising and relieving fact for officials. Tornado watches are still in effect in four states, indicating that the threat is not over. Fox’s Nicole Valdez reported on the ongoing severe weather situation.
Several people are cleaning up the damage left behind from the tornadoes in Nebraska and Iowa on Friday. More severe storms are possible on Saturday.

Celebrating Mother’s Day
SUMMARY: Mother’s Day is a time to honor the women who have shaped us, regardless of biological relationships. It is a day to celebrate all mother figures in our lives. The average age for first-time moms is increasing, as women are getting more educated. It is important to remember those who have passed away, and to celebrate their memory. Spending time with loved ones and creating meaningful experiences is what matters most on Mother’s Day. It is a time to reflect on the impact our mothers have had on us and to show appreciation for them. Remembering the wise words of our mothers and cherishing the moments we have shared with them is key on Mother’s Day.
Dr. Frieda Birnbaum, research psychologist and psychotherapist talks about the history of Mother’s Day and ways to celebrate.
