Liberty Hill senior denied request to wear tribal regalia at graduation | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: Kyra Kellywood, a graduating senior from Liberty Hill High School and member of the Navajo tribe, expressed herself through her vase art project this year. Proud of her heritage, she planned to adorn her graduation cap with a real eagle feather. However, Liberty Hill ISD prohibits students from decorating or altering their graduation caps or wearing non-approved items. Despite the risk of being barred from the ceremony, Kellywood intends to attend in her adorned cap, supported by her family. The Navajo Nation and ACLU argue that policies against native cultural expressions are discriminatory, citing legal protections for tribal regalia at public school events.
A Liberty Hill ISD senior says the district denied her request to wear Native American regalia to her graduation ceremony.

Dade Phelan, GOP censures and corruption in the Texas House | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: The Texas Trio returns with Greg Gugan, Brian Harrison, and others discussing the internal conflicts within the Texas GOP. Harrison criticizes the GOP caucus as ineffective, while a censure battle reflects a broader civil war among Republicans, with around 20-30 members supporting Speaker Dade Phelan's less radical conservatism. Both parties are leaning towards extremism, affecting voter dynamics. Discussion also covered the influence of Trump, West Texas oil money, and Democratic strategies. Despite divisions, Phelan likely has the votes to remain Speaker unless major defections occur. Future political dynamics hinge on upcoming elections and potential backlash against Democrats in red states.
The FOX Texas Trio unpacks their recent interview with State Rep. Harrison on politics in the Texas House.

Israel-Hamas War: Pause in military activity
SUMMARY: The Israeli military is taking a tactical pause in Southern Gaza to allow for humanitarian aid. This follows a deadly attack in Rafah where eight Israeli soldiers were killed in an armored personnel carrier, likely due to buried explosives or an anti-tank missile. The attack underscores Israel's determination to defeat Hamas's positions in Rafah, potentially affecting ceasefire negotiations. The tactical pause will create an 11-hour safe corridor for aid deliveries, though it falls short of a full ceasefire. This decision, criticized by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, represents a strategic but limited humanitarian gesture.
The Israeli military says it is taking a tactical pause of military activity to allow for humanitarian aid to go into southern Gaza.
