Arlington PD releases video of shooting, chase with suspect
SUMMARY: Good afternoon, I'm Al Jones, the Chief of Police for Arlington. I'm here to update you on the officer-involved shooting on May 20th on Shady Valley Drive. We will release body and dash cam footage. Our officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving Austin Taylor, who later fled during a frisk. Despite attempts to help him, Taylor escalated the situation by showing a handgun and firing shots. An ensuing pursuit led to Taylor crashing his vehicle and being shot by officers. Taylor was hospitalized and faces charges including aggravated assault. No officers were injured. Both responding officers are seasoned veterans. I'll now take questions.
20-year-old Austin Taylor was shot three times by police after firing at police and leading them on a chase in May. On Tuesday, Arlington police released body camera video of the incident.

West Texas sees of state’s strongest earthquakes ever, shakes felt in DFW
SUMMARY: Today, a magnitude 5.1 earthquake, one of the strongest in Texas history, struck near Hermleigh, west of Abilene, around 9:30 AM. It’s part of a series of recent quakes, including a magnitude 4.9 on Monday and a magnitude 2.5 on Thursday. SMU professor Brian Stump explained that the seismic waves were felt as far as Dallas. While it’s common to experience magnitude 5 quakes nationwide, the back-to-back events in West Texas warrant monitoring. The cause remains unclear, but potential links to man-made activities like fracking need investigation. The Texas Department of Emergency Management is assessing the damage.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, there was a magnitude 5.1 earthquake at 9:28 a.m. on Friday in West Texas. The tremors were felt all the way in Dallas-Fort Worth.
