www.youtube.com – FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth – 2024-06-16 13:25:02

SUMMARY: The Texas House GOP caucus censured four members, including Brian Harrison, for campaigning against sitting incumbents. Despite the fallout, Harrison remains unapologetic, labeling certain Republicans as fake for not fully supporting conservative agendas. He argued that the House leadership prioritized Democratic bills over Republican priorities. Harrison emphasized a need for reform in the Texas House, claiming liberal dysfunction under Speaker Dade Phelan. The interview highlighted divisions within the GOP, raising questions about future leadership elections. Analysts noted the conflict reflects larger ideological rifts within the party, with both hardliners and moderates vying for influence.

Four of Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan’s biggest critics were censured by House GOP leadership for supporting the campaign of challengers who ran against incumbents. Waxahachie representative Brian Harrison called the Texas House a “corrupt den of liberal dysfunction” after the censure.
