SUMMARY: After a sudden change at the district’s top, Dr. Rahul Paa resigned as superintendent of HUD ISD after just 7 months of service. The Board of Trustees accepted his resignation, citing personal circumstances. Parents were surprised as Paa was initially received well for his passion for positive change. The district has quickly appointed Dr. Carara Malone as Acting Superintendent. Parents are reassured by the leadership team’s ability to continue progress. Classes resume Monday, and parents may have inquiries, but overall, they feel confident in the district’s direction. There is hope to learn from Paa’s resignation and move forward positively.

Hutto ISD superintendent Raul Pena stepped down last night without completing a full school year. This came to many Hutto ISD parents and families as a surprise.
