Elizabeth Holmes reports to prison in Bryan, Texas | FOX 7 Austin

SUMMARY: Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos, has surrendered and begun serving her sentence at a federal prison camp. Holmes, who dropped out of Stanford University at 19, claimed that Theranos would revolutionize healthcare with its technology to quickly detect diseases. However, the company's value dropped to zero as it was revealed that their diagnostics technology did not work. Holmes was convicted on four felony counts of fraud and conspiracy and ordered to pay restitution to the victims. She was sentenced to 11 years, but is likely to serve around 7.5 years with potential reductions. Holmes leaves behind two young children.

The former CEO of Theranos reported to federal prison in Bryan, Texas, about 90 miles from Austin. Elizabeth Holmes was convicted of defrauding investors in her blood-testing start up, and was sentenced to 11 years.

SUMMARY: A nonprofit is aiding individuals with histories of bad choices and drug addiction by providing them second chances through the construction industry. In a conversation with Fox 4's Sean Rab, John Proctor, a veteran in construction, stresses his mission to help those struggling to find employment due to their backgrounds. Partnering with Dallas College and the Regional Black Contractors Association (RBCA), his program offers six weeks of training followed by job placements. The RBCA collaborates with various companies to provide comprehensive support, including housing and drug rehabilitation. For those needing help, the program can be accessed online via the RBCA website.

Round Rock Juneteenth shooting: Police announce arrest of teen

SUMMARY: Round Rock police arrested 17-year-old Ricky Thompson III for his alleged role in a mass shooting at a Juneteenth festival, where two bystanders were killed and 14 others injured. The shooting followed a fight between two groups at the festival in Round Rock, north of Austin. Victims included 54-year-old ARA Duke and 33-year-old Lindsay Vicnaire. Police emphasized the ongoing investigation, aiming to track down other suspects involved in the shooting. A vigil was held to remember the lives lost and pray for those still recovering. Thompson, charged with aggravated assault, has no prior criminal history. More arrests are anticipated.

The Round Rock Police Department arrested a teenager in connection with the Juneteenth festival shooting that left 2 people dead and 14 injured.

Bedford police charge new suspect in elderly woman’s death; first suspect released

SUMMARY: Bedford Police initially arrested a man for the murder of 79-year-old Christine Barsanti based on surveillance . After further investigation, 26-year-old Aaron Pouchi, a recently released felon from Louisiana, was identified as the true suspect. Pouchi allegedly killed Barsanti after she refused to let him use her phone. He fled to Louisiana, where his vehicle was later connected to the crime. The earlier suspect was released after review. Pouchi, now charged with capital murder, is awaiting extradition to North Texas. Bedford Police are examining evidence retrieved from Pouchi's vehicle but have not disclosed a motive.

Bedford police announced they mistakenly arrested the wrong guy for the murder of an elderly woman in her home. But after new evidence came out, they believe they now have the right suspect.
