Trinity River flood victims close to 4 weeks with no relief

Published

www.youtube.com – KPRC 2 Click2Houston – 2024-05-22 18:45:50

SUMMARY: Residents of Trinity River Oaks in Trinity have faced severe flooding for weeks, relying on boats to reach their homes. KPRC 2’s Corley Peele reported on the ongoing devastation and community frustrations with the Trinity River Authority (TRA). Locals blame the TRA’s slow water release from the Lake Livingston Dam for high water levels, though the TRA denies this. A state of disaster has been declared for the county. Despite releasing significant water since April 28th, homes remain submerged. The TRA insists the lake isn’t managed as a flood control reservoir, maintaining a standard elevation of 131 mean sea level. Full details are on Click2Houston.com.
