Published

on

SUMMARY: If you want to be a lifeguard, there are a few things you should know. The lifeguard trials are relaxed, but it’s still a job interview, so dress appropriately. Don’t wear anything too fancy or too casual. You should come ready to swim, wearing athletic swimsuits. Bring your I-9 approved government documents, like your driver’s license and Social Security card, for the new hire paperwork. You’ll also need to do a quick interview and drug screen. The trial itself consists of a 300-yard continuous swim, treading water for two minutes, and retrieving a 10-pound object from the pool. For more information, visit their website.

SUMMARY: A Buddhist temple in Texas was vandalized by four suspected thieves who caused significant damage. The incident was caught on camera and a volunteer who witnessed the break-in spoke out against the perpetrators. The thieves were unable to find any money as the temple is mainly operated by donations. The volunteer called 9-1-1 but the thieves escaped before police arrived. Although no one was harmed, the temple will need costly repairs. The volunteer hopes the thieves will be caught to prevent similar incidents. The thieves only managed to steal a small sum of donation money.

During normal hours of operation, the Texas Guandi Temple is open to everyone who wants to come and pray especially around this time as they celebrate the Chinese New Year, but when four unknown males came in Wednesday afternoon, one of the volunteers immediately sensed something was wrong, and he was right.
