30+ people arrested at UT Austin Palestine rally

SUMMARY: Dozens of arrests were made by Texas DPS during a pro Palestinian protest at UT Austin campus. Texas state troopers were sent at the request of Governor Abbott and the university to stop any unlawful assembly, resulting in clashes with protesters. At least 34 people were arrested as tensions over Israel's war with Hamas intensified. Students supporting Palestinians criticized the use of excessive force by police. Supporters of Israel also attended, with demands for the university to divest from manufacturers supplying Israel with weapons. A photojournalist was arrested while covering the protests, prompting criticism of the university's handling of free speech.

Tensions over Israel's war with the Hamas terrorist group intensified on the UT Austin campus Wednesday afternoon. At least 34 people were detained as troopers and police clashed with hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters.

KPRC 2 Pet Project: Meet Albie, the sweet and sassy cat

June is Adopt a Cat Month, and today we introduce Alby, a one-year-old, sweet and sassy cat who enjoys sunbathing, playing with toys, and snuggling. Leslie Sano from the Houston Humane Society highlights Alby’s affectionate nature and mentions a “name your own price” promotion for cat adoptions every Saturday and Sunday in June. The Houston Humane Society is open from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM and is located at 14700 Almeda Road, Southwest Houston.

Juneteenth festival shooting in Round Rock, Texas leaves 2 people dead, multiple others injured | FO

SUMMARY: A mass shooting at a Juneteenth concert in Round Rock's Old Settlers Park resulted in two deaths and six injuries. Pride flag stolen from Cedar Park church, again | FOX 7 Austin
