Reports: Texas will not retain pitching coach Woody Williams
SUMMARY: Texas Longhorns pitching coach Woody Williams will not be returning for the 2024 season, according to a report from D1Baseball.com. This decision comes as head coach David Pierce continues to revamp his coaching staff after a disappointing season. Despite the turnover, the Texas pitching staff had a successful season, finishing first in the Big 12 with a 4.18 ERA and the lowest opposing batting average at .241. However, some pitchers that Williams previously coached struggled and entered the transfer portal. Williams had previously spent seven seasons at San Jacinto Junior College and pitched for 20 seasons in the majors.
