North Texas has no pediatric COVID-19 hospitalizations; statewide disaster declaration set to expire

SUMMARY: COVID-19 is no longer considered a public emergency in North Texas, with no children in the region's hospitals currently receiving treatment for the virus. In the 19 counties that make up Trauma Service Area E in Texas, only 83 adult COVID-19 patients are being treated, down from the pandemic peak of 4,200 patients. The state will end its COVID-19 disaster declaration in a few days, a new law signed by the governor will prevent local governments from requiring masks or vaccines, and businesses won't be allowed to shut down in response to COVID-19.

Woman arrested, 2 others accused looting Hurricane Beryl-ravaged Westchase area apartments
