Bass said Los Angeles was prepared for migrants from out of state, following recent instances of GOP governors sending asylum-seekers to Democratic states. Texas Gov. abc13.com – ABCNews – 2024-06-14 11:05:51

SUMMARY: Bump stocks, firearm modifications banned by the federal government until the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the regulation, have stirred controversy due to their ability to change the firing rate of semi-automatic weapons. Replacing the back of a rifle, bump stocks enable rapid fire by using the motion and energy from the kickback. They can fire 400-800 rounds per minute, close to prohibited fully automatic weapons. Calls for a ban surged after their use in the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting. A federal ban in 2018 was challenged by Michael Cargill, and the Supreme Court ruled the policy exceeded federal authority.
