Holocaust museum to host free field trips for eighth graders – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
SUMMARY: A Holocaust museum in New York City is launching a program to provide free educational field trips for public school eighth graders to combat antisemitism. Starting this fall, up to 85,000 students per year will tour the Museum of Jewish Heritage, thanks to a $2.5 million effort partly funded by the Gray Foundation. Initiated by City Council member Julie Menin after the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks, the program aims to educate students on antisemitism and the Holocaust. The effort also supports new measures in schools to address antisemitism, including a curriculum highlighting Jewish contributions. President Biden emphasized the importance of combating hate.
