SUMMARY: Six families living on the east side are frustrated with delays in cleanup at a contaminated site near the East Freeway and the Sanjino River. The EPA listed the area as a super fun site in 2008, but progress has been slow. The delays have left residents feeling angry and disregarded, as they fear for their health and safety. While some progress has been made in cleaning up one waste pit, the other remains untouched. The delays are due to a deficient plan submitted by the responsible company. Residents are fed up with waiting for action and fear further contamination during flooding.
