SUMMARY: Hundreds of residents gathered at the Dripping Springs Ranch Park and Event Center to meet with the Texas Department of Transportation and learn about the US 190 expansion. People expressed concerns about the potential impact on homes and businesses, with some property owners facing the loss of valuable land and infrastructure. The proposed plan would turn the current four-lane road into a six-lane freeway stretching 13 miles through Travis and Hays counties. The project is in stage two of four, and the community will have another chance to provide feedback at a future public hearing.

Questions:
– What are the concerns of the residents regarding the US 190 expansion?
– How is the Texas Department of Transportation addressing the potential impact on homes and businesses?
– What is the current stage of the project and when can the community expect another meeting or public hearing?

While TxDOT said the expansion is aimed at making improvements, many who attended the community meeting said it is doing the direct opposite.

SUMMARY: Capitol Hill is currently facing issues of providing more money to Ukraine and getting more money out of NATO members. Senator John Cornyn indicated bailing out on both, which may not be a good idea. However, a UT poll shows that Texans are split on global intervention, with many relating it to the border crisis. There is debate about supporting Ukraine versus prioritizing American needs. Former President Trump’s comments on NATO and Ukraine aid have stirred controversy, potentially affecting the upcoming elections. There are discussions about attaching a border bill to the Senate plan to break the logjam and unlock funding for Ukraine.
