www.youtube.com – FOX 7 Austin – 2024-06-09 22:28:10

SUMMARY: Amid heightened efforts by President Joe Biden to secure the southern border and raise migration standards, the Texas US Senate race spotlights key issues ahead of the November election. Democratic challenger Colin Allred criticizes the administration's delayed actions, stressing comprehensive Congressional reform, while incumbent Republican Senator Ted Cruz dismisses Biden's measures as electoral tactics, emphasizing the border crisis as an “invasion.” The candidates also diverge on US support for Israel in the Hamas conflict; Allred advocates for a peaceful resolution and Palestinian statehood, while Cruz supports robust military aid to Israel, viewing the conflict as a fight between “civilization and barbarism.”

During a week when Pres. Biden sought to handle the crisis at the southern border, we focus on the coming battle in Texas for a U.S. Senate seat, and two issues both divisive and critical to the upcoming election.

www.youtube.com – FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth – 2024-07-15 21:22:48

SUMMARY: Former President Donald Trump selected Ohio Senator JD Vance as his running mate for the 2024 presidential election. Vance, initially a critic of Trump, has become a strong supporter. The announcement occurred at the Republican National Convention, shortly after an assassination attempt on Trump. Vance, a Marine and Yale Law graduate, rose to fame with his book “Hillbilly Elegy.” In 2016, Vance criticized Trump but later aligned with his policies during his Senate campaign. President Biden called Vance a Trump “clone,” and Vance blamed Biden for the recent attempt on Trump's life. Trump will formally accept the nomination on Thursday.

Ohio Senator J.D. Vance was once a “Never Trump” Republican. On Monday, he was named Trump's running mate in the 2024 campaign.
