After nearly 3 decades on death row, former Missouri City safety officer faces execution

SUMMARY: Tonight, Robert Prada is scheduled to be executed after spending nearly 3 decades on death row. He was convicted of hiring two men to kill his wife in 1994. Prada, a former Missouri city public safety officer, had a contentious divorce with his wife at the time of the crime. After winning a retrial in 2009, he was once again convicted and sentenced to death. Two other men involved in the plot were also sentenced to death. The execution will be closely observed by media witness Robert Arnold.

Barring any last-minute stays, Robert “Bob” Fratta is scheduled for execution Tuesday in Huntsville.
