Former Secret Service agent speaks on Trump assassination attempt | FOX 7 Austin

Published

www.youtube.com – FOX 7 Austin – 2024-07-15 22:15:22

SUMMARY: Former President Donald Trump narrowly escaped injury when a gunman opened fire at a rally near Pittsburgh, killing a spectator. The 20-year-old gunman bought 50 rounds of ammo hours prior and fired from a nearby rooftop. The Secret Service faces scrutiny for inadequate preparation and resource allocation, failing to secure the rooftop. Retired agent Robert Cabano criticized both local law enforcement and the Secret Service for their inaction. Despite agents' best efforts during the incident, Cabano fears law enforcement complacency and thin resources might lead to repeated incidents unless public attitudes toward violence change.

The investigation is only beginning following this weekend's assassination attempt on former President Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. Criticism of the Secret Service is ramping up with mounting questions about how prepared the agency was.
