3 Fort Worth firefighters injured while battling house fire

SUMMARY: Firefighters in Fort Worth had to break out second-story windows to escape a fire they were battling last night. Almost 24 hours later, one of the three injured firefighters remains in the hospital. The incident occurred in a Southside home, where one resident escaped safely before firefighters arrived. Upon arrival, the firefighters encountered heavy flames on the second story. Three firefighters were sent to Parkland Hospital; one fell through a compromised carport while two others escaped through upper-level windows. Two have been discharged, but the department hasn't specified the injuries. Investigators are still determining the fire's cause. Neighbors are shocked and saddened.

Almost 24 hours later, one of three injured firefighters remains hospitalized.

Police chase ends in shootout in Midlothian, suspect injured

Here & Now: The North Texas Behavioral Health Authority

SUMMARY: The North Texas Behavioral Authority (NTBHA) has received a $1.25 million state grant to create a Youth Crisis Outreach Team (YCOT), a pilot program aimed at addressing youth mental health crises. The team will consist of six specialized staff who will work in six counties, responding to crises involving children and adolescents. The YCOT, an extension of the existing Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT), will provide trauma-informed care and support to families in various settings, including homes, schools, and juvenile justice facilities. The program aims to reduce law enforcement interventions and emergency room visits by offering targeted, in-home care for up to 90 days.
