SUMMARY: The three leading candidates for the 2024 Texas Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate debated in Austin, covering major issues like the southern border, abortion, and gun laws. With the primary election approaching, the candidates made their case for why they are the best choice to beat incumbent Republican Senator Ted Cruz in November. The top three candidates, Colin Allred, Roland Gutierrez, and Carl Sherman, participated in the debate, each offering a different approach. Political scientist Matthew Wilson noted the differences in style between the candidates and the challenges they will face, including potentially being on the same ballot as incumbent Democratic President Joe Biden. The election is on March 5th, and a candidate must receive more than 50% of the vote to win.

Texas AFL-CIO held a debate between top Democrats looking to challenge Ted Cruz for a spot in the U.S. Senate. U.S. Rep. Colin Allred, Texas Senator Roland Gutierrez and DeSoto State Representative Carl Sherman took part in the debate. #election #texas #

Around 9:00 a.m., a couple found her wrapped in a towel and immediately called 911. Paramedics arrived quickly and took her to the hospital where she is now recovering well. The incident was caught on security cameras, and detectives are currently searching for the man responsible, who will face charges of child endangerment and abandonment. The family who found the baby expressed disbelief and gratitude for being there in time to save her life.
