Travis County Sheriff’s Office investigating overnight homicide in northwest Austin

SUMMARY: The Travis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide after finding a man with gunshot wounds in northwest Austin early Monday morning. Deputies responded to a check welfare call around 4 a.m. in the 13000 block of Amarillo Avenue, near West Parmer Lane and McNeil Drive, and discovered the unresponsive man in the street. Despite CPR efforts by deputies and life-saving measures by Austin-Travis County EMS, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. No suspects are currently in custody.
