Texas signee Lauren Lewis of Prosper breaks state record in 400 meters for third time
SUMMARY: Lauren Lewis, a Texas high school graduate, broke the state record in the 400 meters for the third time this year, running 51.17 seconds at the Great Southwest Classic. She also won the 200 meters at the event with a time of 22.94, the third-best in state history. Only six girls in U.S. high school history have run faster than Lewis. She is the only high school girl in the nation to break 52 seconds in the 400 meters in 2023.

Woman arrested, 2 others accused looting Hurricane Beryl-ravaged Westchase area apartments
SUMMARY: Police in Houston have arrested 61-year-old Tamara Brown for allegedly breaking into multiple Westchase-area apartments damaged by Hurricane Beryl.
