Police identify person of interest in 2023 hit-and-run investigation

SUMMARY: The Austin Police Department is seeking public assistance to locate Nilson Isaac Perez Gomez, a 20-year-old Hispanic man, in connection with a hit-and-run crash on Sept. 24, 2023, around 7 p.m. near Ohlen Road and Research Boulevard Service Road. The crash resulted in serious injuries to an elderly victim. Gomez weighs approximately 160 lbs. Information can be reported to the Highway Enforcement Investigations Unit at 512-974-5789 or anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477 or austincrimestoppers.org. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for tips leading to an arrest.
