Study: Austin seeing lower birth rate than US average

The study considered women aged 15 to 50, with 10,736 births out of 285,094 women in that category for 2022. Austin's birth rate dropped from 4.5% in 2021, correlating to a decrease in average family size from 2.94. Conversely, Texas cities like Dallas, El Paso, San Antonio, and Houston have higher birth rates and larger average family sizes.
