‘Pandas’ at Chinese zoo are Chow Chow dogs dyed black and white – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
SUMMARY: A zoo in China has been accused of deceiving visitors by displaying dogs dyed black and white to look like pandas. The Taizhou Zoo in Jiangsu showcased the “panda dogs” in an exhibit, but their wagging tails gave them away. Zoo officials claimed the dogs, Chow Chows, were painted to resemble pandas and that they had clearly advertised them as “panda dogs.” However, the zoo faced criticism for misleading visitors and mistreating the dogs. This incident is not the first of its kind in China, where other zoos have been accused of displaying fake animals, including dyed dogs.
