Developer ‘prepared for battle’ after Texas board OKs eminent-domain for Fairfield Lake
SUMMARY: Developer Todd Interests is preparing for a legal battle over Texas officials voting to take thousands of acres of land through eminent domain. CEO Shawn Todd claims this would be a “reckless abuse of power” and cost the state hundreds of millions of dollars in damages and future profits. The firm has not yet received a formal written appraisal-based offer from the state, however, Todd has stated the development will continue as planned. If the state proceeds with eminent domain, Todd Interests will be “legally prepared for battle.”
