Sparking the imagination in First-Year Seminars

SUMMARY: A new course was launched earlier this year at Johns Hopkins University's Krieger School of Arts and Sciences which sees students participate in weekly, live videoconference classes with 12 students at Massachusetts' Williams College. The course is called Citizenship and Society in the U.S., and aims to familiarise students from both campuses with intellectual discourse in higher education, as well as encouraging them to form relationships with peers and faculty. The conference content allows students to real-time research the political layout in their institution's area and to share their findings with their classmates, creating an environment for the exchange of ideas and the sharing of perspectives.

Pedestrian dies in crash involving off-duty officer
